The gang at Rough Guide have done it again with an enthralling
introduction to the music of China. The 17 tracks showcase a variety
of music from different eras – Yellow Banana, a tune from
Beijing all-girl punk band Hang On The Box, doesn’t sound
out of place nestled amongst a snippet of Chinese Opera and the
subtle sound of the qin, Chian’s most revered traditional
