Less strident in approach than the music of their
gypsy counterparts Traditional Music From Macedonia sways
eloquently on the metaphysical fence between Slavic Europe and
the Middle East, bolstered by the complex rhythms and subtle graduations
of accelerandi and decelerandi that are childs play to this
talented bunch of musicians.
Within the borders of Macedonia resides an enormous
population of émigrés from neighbouring Albania.
Due to the countrys isolation from the rest of Europe up
until recent times many styles that might otherwise have been
discarded or bastardised into populist fodder have been retained
