Melding
Brazilian harmonies, jazz, latino and rockish beats with powerfully
rooted flamenco traditions (the Habichuelas, Sorderas and Heredias
are fifth generation flamencos) they set the pace and opened the
floodgates.
Ketama Nuevos Medios Coleccion
contains many of the highlights
of their best releases, although I was a bit disappointed that
the wonderfully haunting "Pozo Del Deseo" or the drivingly
afro-centric "Mani Mani Kuru" were omitted. The CD is
a bit shorter than the Jorge
Pardo and
"La
Barberia Del Sur"
collections and their inclusion
would have been nice. But then you can't please everyone and this
appetizer is highly recommended. RJ
